Eclipse 5 corner tank pics.

#1
Okay after a whole week i finally had time to setup this new 5 gallon eclipse corner tank. here's some pics to go along with

it to give you a better detail than what words can give. This was from a previous thread we had about the eclipse 6 system but when i checked it out i bought the eclipse 5 gallon corner tank instead after opening up both in the store and liked this one better. Also found some on this board had this tank and others want to see what's it like so here goes!

1)Here's what the tank looks like right out of the box

2)here's how the Lid opens, i like how the entire lid flips open unlike some other eclipse models with a tiny flap in the back, provides very easy access to feeding and checking the filter in seconds.

3)here's the tank, with the base and entire lid removed. it's entirely removable and just press fitted onto the tank.

4)rear view of the tank incase your guys wanna know what it looks like.

5)close up of the power usage and warnings on the back of the lid.

6)writing on the clear cover for the light bulb. mainly tells you to unplug when servicing and max 15watt incandescent and 11 watt compact flourescent allowed.

i couldn't post too many pics on one entire post so here's
Part 2:

7)buckets?! we don't need no stinkin buckets for filling! actually i filled almost 3/4 of the way before bringing it to my table setup cause it wasn't heavy at all and the acrylic is very forgiving. hey it's a 5 gallon! two more from a 2L ice cream bucket and it was full to the top.

8)shot in the dark, no flash with the incandescent bulb on.

9)shot in the dark, no flash with the coralife 50/50 10watt compact flourescent i bought. Waaaay brighter and bluer, It felt very riceboy of me i better get some fish that pretends to go fast. (car enthisiasts might find that funny)

10)here's what my setup looks like before decorations of fake corals and stuff, going to be a fresh water tank. I've put the heater by the intake tube so warm water would circulate very quickly. this way it would maintain a uniform temperature throughout the tank.

11)The filter area, i decided not to use the filter pack it came with and instead put in some filter floss that i bought a huge bag for $1.50 used around 10% of the bag. it's very loosely packed there but the dang thing just expanded. Left if that way so i can insert a small media bag filled with carbon between the bio wheel and the floss area incase i have to add medication and needed to get it out. setup this way it's very cheap compared to the OEM filter packs. And i can replace the carbon easily if i wanted without disturbing the bio filter on the floss. makes the whole filter setup modular. i've poured some bottled bacteria into the biowheel and filter floss to jump start the cycling hopefully before i add in some shrimp next week.

12) last shot! with the lid up and the light on, it's very blinding for a little 10 watt. not sure if it's enough for plant growth in this tank.

ok so there you have it, hope you guys enjoyed this cause i spent like an 35 mins writing this all up! now i'm waiting for some cherry shrimps to come in next week the employees of a LFS said. Not telling anyone where though until i get my 4-5 for this tank! i'll be getting decorations through the week.
