Anyone ever put an inline uv like the CORALIFE TURBO-TWIST 6X on a 2080? How much does it slow down the flow? I going to build a new 150gl with 2 Eheim 2080's and a 18w UV. So what do ya think inline or seperat pump for the uv?

No filters are seperate.

From tank ------> 2028#1 ----------> To tank

From tank ------> 2028#2 ------->18wUV -----> To tank

I'm crurious on how much flow the 18wUV will cut.
If its to much I'll go with:

From tank ------> 2028#1 ----------> To tank

From tank ------> 2028#2 ----------> To tank

From tank ----> Rio600 ----> 18xUV ----> To tank

I think you'd be better off doing tank - rio pump - uv - tank
however I have absolutely zero experience with any of the above. I just know that the fact is if you reduce the flow from your filter in any significant way you increase stress on the motor and reduce the filters overall effectivness.

All you can do is try it ? and judge for yourself if the filter is labouring. Let us know!

i have an 8 watt coralife. powering it is a 2213 eheim.that filter is rated for about 90gal/hr.it is an old filter(6 or 7 years)with the UV unit on it my guess would be 65gal/hr.the eheim dosnt get hot or make any kind of noise indicating laboring.definite drop in the flow rate.i agree not putting the other filters in line.much easier to service.if you have the power head that is the way to go.steve
