Eheim 2228

I bought an eheim 2228 from someone and cant figure out why it is not working. It was working at his house. It is full of water and is making noises but nothing is happening. Anyone have a clue? Please help, I'm clueless!!!

the canister is lower than the tank right?

Just look for the obvious.

making noises? my has a nice low hum to it....

Well, I think I finally got it working but it spit out all of the crap that was in the filter and now my water is murky...hopefully the filter will work well enough to get rid of all that stuff. Also, with this filter, I cant feel the water going into the filter but I feel the water coming out, is this normal?

what do you mean? if you put your finger near the sucking end you probably wont feel much, but you should feel it at the out end
