mY eHEIM 2236 KEEPS TAKING IN AIR...i HAVE HAD IT SET UP FOR 2 MONTHS NOW AND i NEVER HAD A PROBLEM UNTIL ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO WHEN i KEPT HEARING SWOOSHING SOUNDS COMING FROM IT ....So I TOOK THE BLUE AND WHITE PADS AND MOVED THEM AROUND IN SOME OLD TANK WATER AND JUST GAVE THE SPLINTERED GLASS MEDIA A FEW SHAKES....DIDN'T WANNA MESS WITH IT TO MUCH BECAUSE MY TANK JUST FULLY CYCLED.....AND WHEN i WENT TO HOOK IT UP IT SEEMED FINE AT FIRST ...BUT WITHIN A DAY IT STARTED TO MAKE THE SWOOSHING SOUND AGAIN AND EXPELLING AIR EVERY SO OFTEN........COULD THIS BE BECAUSE OF THE HYDOR VOLCANO AERATOR IN MY TANK THAT IS CREATING ALOT OF AIR BUBBLES?....i CHECKED THE EHEIM AND CHECKED THE PROPELLER AND EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE FINE.....i JUST DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM.....

How close is the Hydor Volcano Aerator to the intake of the filter? You could move it further away and see if it stop. After they have been opened some times after they have been opened it can take a day or two to get the air out, i give my canister a shake once in awhile to get it out.

Its close to the volcano. But it doesnt look like any of the bubbles are getting sucked up by it....except for the tiny ones that are pretty much through out the tank when you look closely ....and i hate having to keep opening this ecco eheim because of all the horror stories about the handle falling apart after repeated use
