eheim filter question

My eheim professional 2 filter sometimes makes a little grinding noise/buzz..not very loud, but it does seem more noisy than I remember it.

It seems like its coming from the top near the impeller. I took a quick look at the impeller and it seemed to be ok... and ideas?

My Eheim classic 2213 was very noisy the other day, (its in my room) and i couldent sleep. but i have another 2213 so i switched the power heads over to my spear which is bearly used. and thats the only way i could see of cuttnig the noise. also putting the filter on some foam cut down the noise.

Are you worried about the proformance or just the noise ?

really just worried about the noise. I think the filter is performing fine.

just changed out the impeller and it doesnt seem much better

Not sure on what is causing it. Did you clean out the area where the impeller is really well? I personally use XP2's and XP3's, and they have been extremely silent.
