Eheim Tubes

Well I have a Eheim 2215, and my LFS (wheir I bought it from) does cleanings, and I will be bringing it in for its first cleaning. but what I am wondering is in the intake out output tubes running from the actualle tank is alot of gunk. When I disconect the filter should I clean these tubes out or is the stuff in their valuble bacteria?

Clean it out. There is not an ample supply of bacteria in those tubes to make much difference, if any at all. All that gunk only serves to reduce the flow of water, and I think would be suprised by how much it actually does.

true, i didnt think of the water flow reduction it was making, thanks ill get cracking on cleaning those
