Elephant fish - do you need more than 1?

I've been toying w/ the idea of getting an elephant fish but nowhere can I find if they need to be kept in schools.  I know they have electrical organs to communicate w/ eachother so it leads me to believe I need more than 1.  Does anybody know for sure?

Honey, those aren't electric "organs" for communicating...
those are the water-proof models put out by Nokia   *laughingcryingsmiley*

actually i thinkits more of an electric feild built around them that helps them find food.

From what I've read

Elephant nose and other similar fish (ex: black ghost knife ...) live in very murky water. As a result they developed mild electrical sensitivity along their lateral line (a sensory part of the fish, you can see a long line running along each side). Another living organism, even plant life, entering the mild electrical field generated by the fish is detected. If it's food, they try to chow it, otherwise they move on. So, it's more than just hunting. Navigation, flight or flight from predators, etc.

From what I've been told, they are solo creatures.
