These are COOL fish. But unless you're ready for a challenge I don't know that you want to get one. They do best by themselves or in a group of like 6 or more...the catch is that they get to be very large, i'm going to say 10 inches...but I don't remember exactly.
They feed off of the bottom and are pretty particular about their food...they search for their food (blood worms) in the substrate with their flexible little nose/trunk thing and they also send out electrical impulses. VERY smart fish. They like to have tunnels/caves to hide in...can be shy and jumpy.
I think someday I will get one...my lfs has them from time to time, I think they are cool/wierd looking fish
