emerald crab as mantis food?

i went to the lfs today to get more hermits, got 20 hermits and 1 emerald crab. is it normal if a smithii cant puncture a emerald crabs shell? i also have good news, the lfs is giving me all the rock crabs they get in there live rock shipments each week.

mantis shrimps have the most powerful strike in this animal world...compare that to a .22 caliber gun. My guess is...yeah it can...i don't have one, but i've seen some pretty nasty strikes

the only problem is not all of them have that speed. the ones that do are 8 inches long( i want one so bad) mine is only 2.5 inches and wont get much bigger. i guess if he was hungry enough he would kill it, it looks like you are shooting a steel wall with a bb gun though...

a .22 cal aint much...but I get what you mean power-wise

which lfs? aquatouch? I'm assuming that they consider their rock crabs as "nuisance"

yup. they are a nuisence

I think you will diffeninatly lose the emerald crab to the mantis. due to the molting of the emerald unless hes really good at hiding.
