Have a 125 gallon tank I'm starting to set up and really don't like the idea of running the plumbing and what not for an under tank canister filter. Plan to do African cichlids and don't expect to overstock or even come close to the limits. What's your opinion on running 2 Emperor 400s for the only filtration for this.

TIA.

Well each Emperor 400 is good up to 80 gallons (Per Marineland's web page) so in theory you'd have filtration for 160 gallons.

I run 2 HOB penguin 150's on my 55 and they do a nice job, but I would be more inclined to go with a canister for a tank as large as yours.

On my other 55 I run a Penguin 330 & a Magnum 350 Canister, and I have to say that tank is noticeably cleaner, especially considering it's a goldfish tank to boot.

Besides running the "plumbing" really isn't to bad.
