emporer bio wheels

ok as some of you know i found a 55g at a garage sale and my mom wanted it!so she bought it.it came with two emperor bio wheels.what are your opinions on this filter.

what model number of the emperor is it ? From what ive heard its a good filter. ive got a marineland filter myself that im very happy with.

well i just finished seeting the tank up and cleaning.i think they said they
350s. im not sure i go dig through the instruction books

That is a lot of filter for a 55 but I guess you can't have too much filtration either. A Emperor 400 is good on a tank up to 75g I beleive. I have 2 on my 125g and have never had a problem so far. They seem to work great. That was a good find. Those go from 59-89 $$ in the store. I found both of mine online a lot cheaper.

wow,i dint realise how expensive they can get.i guess that is a good deal,i have a question about the filter pads actually.theres 4 slots in one filter for pads.so can i only use two pads in the filter or do i need all 4.ohh and do i need to ever replace the bio wheel.i dont think so but im not sure

one filter on each side and NEVER replace the bio wheels unless you totally destroy or damage them

it should've came with containers for extra media you could put loose media in them or you can go with an extra filter cartridge in each side if you want.

Just get two normal cartridges and then two media containers. THey actually shoulda come with them, if not you can get them online. THe media containers you can just fill in some extra biomedia.
