I just wanted to know what everyone thinks/knows about Diatom Filters.....i know basically what they do, but if someone could explain it again 
. Also where is a good place to buy them and what brand is the best?
Also i am looking to plant my 55gal. Lightly at first and then move to heavily. What type and how much light would i need? Do i need CO2 right off? I want to do this equipment for the planted tank as inexpensive as possible. Would my AC500 be fine for this tank when its planted or will it be to strong for plants and any slower current fish i put in there?
