evaporation

so right now i have a glass top on my tank ive been told by a few members on here that eggcrate is alot better...im just wondering how bad the water evaporation is with eggcrate?

The glass top might keep more heat in, not sure i'd go as far as saying its a lot worse then eggcrate...anyway, my pico is an open top..with a good amount of air blowing across the surface of the water, and lots of water movement. Sometimes it gets to be a real pain. I add water close to every 2 days or so.

with glass top off youll get alot more evaporation .... but its worth it to remove it to let more oxygen in
