Why is my water always evaporating. I put oxygen in it every time I see a big water difference. The water just dissapears with white bubbles covering the side. I have no fish in there but shrimp.

I keep a gallon of water by the tank so that I can replace the evaporated water before i go to bed so that I can sleep. I have to add water like every other day for my 55g.

I don't think oxygen or even heat has anything to do with it (I have a cold water tank) and still have to replace water.

As far as I know, evaporation has a lot to do with air moving over the surface of the water. Although water will evaporate on it's own, if there is even the slightest breeze moving over a tank (regardless if it has a lid) the moving air will pick up the water and take it.
