Ever hear of an 80 gallon high tank??

I have a fishtank that is taller than a 55gallon but has the same dimmensions of 48" wide and 13" deep. It is over 30" high and thus considered an 80 gallon high according to the guy I bought it from 3 years ago. Problem is this----I want to but a wood stand with canopy but Im afraid to place it on a 55gallon rated wood stand just incase it cant support the weight. I cant find anyone that sells a stand for the 80 gallon high in wood.

Any help would be appreciated. I want to get rid of the metal stand I have now.

i believe what you have there is an 80g H...my dad had a 90g high (48x36x14) on a stand designed for a 55 with no problem so there you go, take that for what it is

Build yourself one. Not that hard just make sure you figure in some adequate supports. If you look around on the net you'll find lots of plans and layouts for a stand. Plus it'll save you a ton of money, seriously.

Yeah...I dont think youll have a problem with weight, but if you are concerned you could always build a stand.

you could always just add some supports to the 55g stand if you aready have one or saw one you really liked.
