Well I got me a loach today :) A zebra loach to be exact. I named him Louis the secret agent fish 'cause of the way he sneaks around the tank and into his secret agent hideout. Very cool, I must say. My other fish are doing cartwheels trying to get my attention again. lol. I'm going to get a weather loach at some point, too, and maybe a yoyo. I like the kuhliis but they are soo small! (At least the ones I saw were).
So anyway, what's the reason for this post? Just to tell those who don't have a loach to try them... and perhaps other loach owners can share their stories?*BOUNCINGS

i am going to change my gravel to sand and i had to catch all of the fish so i catch most of em'! then i have a hard time with the plec and loach. eventually i catch the plec so i am trying to catch the loach and i stop and rub my eyes and BAM! hes gone i started to search the floor in panic :( then i remove ALL decor and there is heater, airstoen and filter intake so i think he jumped put the back of the tank and i look there but no good so the last hope......the heater!!!! he was hiding in between the heter and the suction cups!!!!!!! i wanted to shoot him

My yoyo is the cutest little thing. He sometimes swims up to other fish and lays on them!! Yes lays on them! He also has a leaf on one plant that he sleeps on, he literally rolls on his side and sleeps =)

Besides all that he cause trouble by chasing fish and digging up dirt!

yes loaches are good:)i just don't get why everyone has yoyo loaches.i bought mine cause they were cheap, the guy was trying to sell me dwarf chain loaches(very attractive fish btw)and they were 20 dollars a peice, just out of my range for a snail eater.yoyo's are cool but onery fish.so if you see a diffrent loach pick it up so we don't all have the same fish:p

not too small,i have seen a 4 inch yoyo.4 inches yes small no.at 4 inches yoyos could be quite the aquatic terror.i'm already freaking out with what to do with mine and they are still small.thank goodness they grow slow.

they dont grow that slow i wanted mine for ages then saw them so i got 3 one has gotten really big and fat and my other 2 arent far behind i dont think there slow growing at all. also i think the reason there are more of them is 1 they are more accsesible like angel said but also i think because they dont grow as big as clowns do or caugh ick as easily so people who have had losses with clowns try them instead just my opion :)

Don't tell the kids but the dojo (weather loach) is much, much cooler than the fancy goldfish that share his/her coldwater tank. Can't wait for the stores around here to start restocking them so that I can get another - supply seems to be a big problem.
