experiences with silver dollers

im thinking about getting a few silver d's but my tank is pretty heavily planted. the profile says they may or may not eat plants and i was wondering what your experiences were, if i feed lots o0f green food will my plants be ok?

My 50gallon has 3 silver dollars, and they havent bothered some of the plants I have in there. Yet the plants are anubias, java fern and java moss, they do love to mow down hornwart though. If you get thickleaved, waxy like plants I dont think they will bother them. Or add a few plants that they can mow threw, and it will save your more pricy plant species*celebrate

fromw hat ive heard they eat lots of plants one way to stop them is to just hang leafs of lettuce on the side of the tank which they will eat instead of plants, what size tank do you have in a large tank a big school is very impressive, a local LFS has a 7x8x5 foot tank with 15 silver dollars in a school full grown it is great

my tank is 48long 12high and 15wide but the shop only has to of these fish, so do you think i should go ahead and get them, i can always take them back if the start eating my plants
