Over spring break our kuhlii loach developed some pathogen that I am unfamiliar with. The fish is lethargic, can't swim very far or fast. He is eating brine schrimp but avoids sinking wafers and remains hidden most of the time. His skin has lost its pattern in patches, now on both sides. We first noticed his condition Sunday with a small pink patch on his left side near the dorsal fin. He is housed in a twenty gallon long tank with four dwarf puffers who have never badgered him. Beside the patches, which suggest to me an infection, he has no body damage. The puffers are all healthy and active. He has a sand substrate beneath him with rocks and driftwood. Plants in the tank have been difficult and there is an issue with algea. Laura has been religious with wcs, performing at least two every week due partly to the large ammount of debris from the algea stricken plants.
