eye problem

i was gone all weekend and when i got home today i noticed that my socofi's eye is white and he was staying at the top of my tank around the filter...can someone help? he has always been the bully of the tank..did someone get him back for all his fighting or is this a diasease that can be corrected? any help would be grateful!!!!!!!

sorry to tell u this but it is dieing. to me it looks like it has cloud eye and is sufering alot. a suggestion would be to go to the fish store and be a medication for the fish. but beware that the medician can kill the other fish in ur tank. it all come down to the needs of the many V.S. the needs of the few. my oppion is to get rid of it before ur whole tank becomes dieasied. then they will all die.

Is it only one eye that is the problem? That would sound to me like he was in a fight with another fish.

If that's the case, you could move him to a hospital tank and perhaps give him some mild antibiotics or melafix to help stop any infection.

I can't really tell by the pictures as they are blurry. BUT, if it is just the one eye and it is a little cloudy on the outside of the retna then I would presume it got in a fight or rubbed against something sharp.

I have had this happen before, and if that is the problem just put a bunch of "pure" salt in your tank and that should take care of it with in a few day's.

Assuming your water is in good shape either a scrape or fighting. If you can put him in a 10 or 20 by himself, keep conditions good and add a bactercide.
