farowella cat

Just purchased a farowella cat. Anyone have experience with this funny looking stick thing? I think he is awesome. Got him about about 8$ I think and he is nearly 5" long.

when i was working at my lfs we had a few.one was even a mated pair supposedly.i can't remember the feeding and care requierments offhand try planetcatfish.com and i'm sure you will find out all you need to know.they are a great fish real weird ours just bounced around all day long

if you can't find any thing on farowellas there then i wll get into my books and see what i can find,i'm at work right now so i don't have my library with me.

I have 2 Farlowella catfish. They munch on algae mostly in my tank. I occasionally toss in some algae pellets for bottom feeders, although I've never actually seen them eat them. Otocinclus catfish--- how big do they get? Just curious, i was thinking of getting one or two. Thanks in advance. Also do you just feed them the occasional algae wafer, or what does everyone else feed theirs?

Farlowella - warm, clean water with moderate current and good oxygen. If your water not good enough they'll hang around at the top and stick their nose out.

CatfishMike -- I was missing an L in the name and that's why. Wasn't sure if I was spelling it right but it's on the planetcatfish site. Thanks for all the info everyone.

I guess my water is good cause he's on the bottom, sides, here and there everywhere but never on the top.
