feather duster or what???

there was a old hermit crab shell laying around in one of my tanks and i noticed something on it that looked like a tiny feather duster but when you get too close it kinda disappears or hides or something but then it comes right back out like 10 or 20 seconds later....what is this a feather duster or what????

well feather dusters retracts in their parchment like tube.

ok after searching online i found a picture of it link its a feather worm...is this good or bad?? and how did it get there???

This is good. Filter feeder, reproduces easily..can become very big. Usually comes with the live rock. Will eat particles in the water like uneated food.

i just bought a new rock today and it has a few more of those feather worms
btw this rock went into the new nano tank i started today...i got 16 pounds of live sand, 6 pounds of live tonga rock, and 20 small blue leg hermit crabs in a 10 gallon.... next week ill add another nice size tonga rock. the week after ill add 1 more toga rock and a clown fish or 2
