featherduster?

Hey all. My featherduster has these long seaweed looking things coming out of the end of it looks like long strands of chaeto. It kind floats above where it has connected itself. Are these entrails(sp?). Would it be ok to trim these off or at least a little closer to the tube part of or would it harm him? Thanks guys hope yer all doin well....

which end is it coming out of? the head end or the back end? personally, i wouldn't go trimming anything on a featherduster unless i knew for sure it was not part of the animal

Can be algae on it but don't disturb your animal. Could be another fan growing, so another duster coming. Ususally mine splits in the middle of the tube, but you better leave it alone for now.
Is it a huge one or a little one
