Feeding Angelfish

My Angelfish look great and are always looking for food however I have noticed they chew it up then spit it out. Is that typical? I feed Flake crisp and som freeze dried bloodworms,

How long have you had them. If they werent eating theyd be getting skinny. They are probably eating most of the flake and spitting out some.

its cause they can't swallow it all at once so they spit some out then stare at it and swallow what they have in their mouth then go back for the rest sometimes unless it hits the ground then they usualy ignore it and make the tank all messy

angelfish are messy eaters as are most cichlids. My angel does this as well as my discus.

Yep, that's normal. Try finding smaller flakes, or crush them before feeding the fish. They might still spit it out since that's how they eat.

I imagine that it'd be hard to eat underwater. So, maybe they're not spitting it out. But as already mentioned, they are messy eaters.

Maybe the food is just floating out as they are eating. Unless of course it looks like they are spitting it and not just chewing.

I didn't quite understand when people were saying how angelfish were begging for food but now I do. Goodness they act like I never feed them.

Well that is what I've heard also, they spit out what you feed them and then act like you don't feed them. What a peculiar trait in a fish!
