feeding convicts

What should you feed convicts that are about 2-3 inches long? Right now I am just feeding them the cichlid baby pellets. Also how often should they be feed in a day? Thanks

Small flakes/pellets would be fine. If you want to go to the trouble brine shrimp would work.

Some people feed once a day some four times a day. Some only feed every other day. The only thing to remember is to not overfeed. You fish should be able to eat all the food in a few minutes without much of it hitting the ground (unless you intend for it to in the case of corys etc.) I feed my fish once a day, this is my preference. There are a lot soft leaf plants in my tank so if they need a snack they just munch on some of those.

When I had convicts I fed them freezed dried bloodworms and they loved them. You will find though that convicts will eat just about anything you put in the tank!!!

My cons wouldnt really eat the pellets, so I feed flakes in the morning and freeze dried tubifex worms at night, they seem to like them.

I feed mine brine shrimp pellets, cichlid granules, and on ocassion, freeze dried bloodworm. I feed them once a day.

Thanks for all of the info. I think I will give them the cichlid gold pellets still, some tropical fish flake food, and some freeze dried something.

i feed em once a day... usually cichlid bites... sometimes flakes, bloodworms, and sometimes tubifex worms... but only once a day
