i bought some ghost shrimp yesterday to help get rid of some algae and when i drop them in the tank the cichlids attacked them and ate them all, (except for the little one he got one but could not fully fit in his mouth so he was holding it and swimming away from the other fish who were trying to take out of his mouth) so is ghost shrimp meant to be food because around here they are sold 12 for $1.00, (is that normal) and if they are meant to be food then is it okay to give some to my cichlids every now and then because they really did like them *SUPERSMIL *SUPERSMIL

anybody please help

Yeah many cichlids love the occasional treat of ghost shimp. I've never feed any myself, but I have heard that doing it too often can cause problems with the fish due to the exoskeleton of the shrimp. Once a month or longer should be fine.

Check with Froggy. I belive that she has feed some to her cichlids in the past.
