Female swords committing suicide!

Hi ive now had 5 swordtails that either right before or right after haveing there fry jump out of the tank.Any ideas why? i have them in a 10 gal. tank alone an the the tank is fully covered except where the filter is.Any ideas is great thanks!

That is seriously weird, what is the setup like? What filter? How often do you do water changes? Normally a fish would

If it was dissatisfied with living conditions, normally short on oxygen, then again some fish jump as a natural thing I believe...

My guess would be poor water quality and/or overcrowding.

What are your readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

How many adults and fry are in the 10 gallon tank?

Hello; Is there any chance that the fish have been startled in some way? I ahve had setups where the tanks were in the dark and when I turned on a light the fish would dash around.
If you do not already have some sort of structure, it may help. I like to place a bunch of floating plants in an otherwise bare tank. It gives the fish a place to go and may help them feel more secure. Artifical stuff could work.
