Got a few new corals today's, I should have waited till tomorrow to post the pic's as the corals are a bit deflated after coming out of the stores tank and into mine. The polyps, this pic doesn't do them any justice. I know its supposed to be an SPS coral tank but :( my LFS dosn't very often carry the sps corals that I want for my tank.

I think an assorted reef mix tank has more eye candy. SPS is real nice but thats it, its just SPS. Its like going to a car museum and seeing only ford mustangs. Sure they are nice but what about Mopars and Chevy's. Those polyps are going to be great, they will have that rock covered in no time!!

I paid $100 for the red ones, it has about 15 heads on it, the polyps you can't see are small ones on the sides of the corals. It was a extra $100 I wasn't planning on spending, but I couldn't pass on the coral, since the Marine Beta didn't come in yet, I went ahead and bought the coral. Another reefer that was taking down her tank brought the coral into the store to sell, she said when she bought the coral it had 3 polyps on it. It looks a lot better than the pic shows, when the polyps are all poofed out. Don't know to much about Blasto's and where they like to be in the tank when it comes to flow and light, I am keeping a close eye on it but it seem to be doing good where I have it in the tank so far, I have it about half way down on the rock scape in the 25 inch deep tank. The Scoly's are doing good also, have them on the sand bed, the green one seems to like the light its getting, the orange one has me confused at the moment. It expands and recedes during the day, so I moved it to where it is kinda shaded a bit from the rocks over it, I will keep a close eye on it also. KC, let me know if you buy the Green ones, and we can swap a polyp or two at some point, my red ones for your green ones :) Just have to figure out how to frag the thing :)

Here is a link for fragging them. Blasto Coral Fraggin Procedure - The Reef Tank . Care for that is like any other LPS. The sand bed should be fine for them or higher up on the edge of the light field.
I am sure I will have one as I think they are great looking coral but, I am saving to get my 150G up and going. I have started to build the stand yesterday, its going to set at 40" tall so you will have a good view into it.

40 inches is talllll, mine is 38 1/4 and that is about right for me. I have to get on the sides of the tank if I want to get to something along the back panel. Thanks for the link :)

I did some more testing on the height and I am going to go 39". I got every thing cut and I just finished the stain, I will assemble next weekend. I will be experimenting with a lot of fragging when its done so I am sure trading will be a big bonus in a couple months. I have some bird nest that is doing great that you are welcome to when you give the word. Just let me know and I will cut off a branch and put it on a plug for you. It should only take about three weeks or so to be ready to ship. Its in my 40G so I can get it ready anytime you give the word. No problem for the link, knowledge is power for sure in this hobby!!!
