Yesterday, my largest male molly died unexpectedly. Water parameters are fine. I did add new fish yesterday, but I think it was a coincidence. Today, I noticed two of my female mollies acting extremely aggressive towards each other. They are slamming into each other and grabbing each other by the mouth. I've only ever read about this behaviour happening with bettas. I've had these mollies for several months; they are ones I've raised myself and they've never shown this much aggression. I'm also surprised that the females are the ones fighting. I also have another male, who is staying out of the fight. Any suggestions? Do you think it's possible the remaining females could have ganged up on the male, killing him? I find it unlikely, as the male was three inches long and very large. The females are each an inch shorter. Maybe it's a coincidence.
