In my tank, if I have a sort of waterfall like filter, do I still need an air pump? ???

I think the only reason you will need a airpump would be for a air stone or something like that.

I have a air pump for a bubble wall at the back of my tank. It looks nice and the sound is quite relaxing.....

the choice is yours

Good Luck

personally i dont think you need a air stone if you have a trickle filter and you have enough water movement.  still water on the top is not nice, if your surface water is moving thats a good thing, if not buy an air stone. i dont like the look of them but thats just me.  i like natural things and ive never seen an air stone in a pond, ocean or river....but hey thats just me.....if you like them, do it..

I am under the impression that an airstone would be optional in this case, not required.

I personally don't care for air stones, but some folks do.
