I am looking at a tank in the range of 50-70 gallons,  What are the advantages and disadvantages of Power HOB vs. Cannister filters for a tank that size?

I have a 55 gal with UGF, 2 whisper 3, and a canister......
Now I am thinking of replacing the tank with a 65 gallon
one that is simply 4" taller. This way the canopy etc will
fit....
So I thought to retire the canister, the whispers, and
the UGF for just 2 emperor 400s.  Keep it simple so to
speak.....
but looking at the tank now... it is so healthy looking
so why fix it?
I do like the extra 10 gallons and 4" of height of the
new tank, but not sure if I should eliminate the UGF.
I do regular vaccuming... I just don't like the added
hardware in the tank, i.e., lift tubes, power heads etc.

Cannister. A good cannister filter will hold an enormous amount of media, meaning top notch biological filtration, meaning healty fish. Replacing a filter cartrige (i.e., the primary source of biological media) negates this advantage. Eheim is by far the best, hands down. You may pay more, but I garauntee you, they are worth every penny. A stable enviornment is a healthy enviornment. A HOB filter only has disadvantages in a large tank.
