What filter should i get for my non planted tank with 1SwOrDtAiL(2in.), 1gUpPy(1.5in.), 2GlAsSfIsH(3in.), 3mOlLiEs(2.5in.), 3rArE fIsH i ThInK tHeY aRe CaLlEd GuPpY LiVeBeArEr(3/4in.), 2 pLeCo(12in.) AnD SwOrDtAiL fRy and a new arival of fry fish. In the far future i will maybe get rainbow fish. the filters are either AC 300, AC 500, Emp. 280, or Emp. 400. I dont want to get the one that does more filterration. all i want is a filter that will keep up with my 55g tank and will keep my water clear. it doent have to be crystal clear.

If you are just wanting one filter, then I would go with the emperor 400. If it was me, I would put a aquaclear 300 on one side and a penguin 170 on the other. You could put a emperor 280 in place of the penguin 170, but that is going to be a lot of filtration for the kinds of fish you will be keeping.

If you just want one filter, go with either the Aquaclear 500 or the Emperor 400. I put just one penguin 330 on my first 55G tank and it did not do a good enough job of keeping the tank clean. I could see stuff floating around in the tank all the time.
