I got this filter with the 55gal I bought yesterday. On the lid is an imprint that says Regent Aqua-tech 200. According to the previous owner, she bought the filter at Walmart. Unfortunately, she disposed of the media, so I have no idea to set it up, what sort of media to use. She said there were bags that you used in it. I have googled the name of it and can find it nowhere. I only know about hotb filters. If anyone knows about this type of filter or can hazard a guess about what I need to run it, I'd sure appreciate it. (BTW, it is set up and running on my back porch as a test before putting it in the hose.)

Thanks :)

Aqua-Tech is just the generic Wal-Mart brand, I don't think they sell these anymore.
Luckily, I believe it is the same as Marineland so if you buy Marineland filter media it should fit. Just find the comparable Marineland product.

that filter IS a H.O.T. Magnum 350 .... GREAT FILTER IMO .... I have one and I think its just about the BEST Filter I own. You can get a micron cartridge for it and use it as a Water polisher......they run about 15.00 bucks and can be cleaned and reused. Hope this helps !:p

A brand new one runs about 80.00 here in Lincoln.

It is indeed a HOT magnum. Just curious, does the filter itself on it have the marineland brand anywhree on it? Check the casing, motor, etc. If it does I doubt she got if from walmart. If it doesnt then thats a great deal!
