i can/t get any more pads for my HOB pro aqua filter it/s a plastic pad with some synthetic material can i substitute it with a carbon filled stocking in the mean time?the model is JF300 any one know where to get the filter pads

You can use any filter floss, doesn't have to be their name brand. Why do you want to replace it? They should last a long time if you just rinse them out in used tank water. Unless its falling apart, it can be used.

Are you trying to remove medication or tannins with the carbon? If not, there is really no need to have it.

i collected rain water from the drain pipe off the roof & just to be safe hang the filter over the bucket& run the filter through the replaceable carbon filter pad
