is there a filter that has a built in heater with it ? if there is does this eliminate the heater in the tank,, and does it work?
can you have too much filter? i currently have a topfin 60 on a 55 gallon tank, looking to add another filter or get a bigger one, im trying to get a setup that works great and all my fishes will be happy, i have assorted african chiclids,, do they like alot of water movement ?

cant have too much filtration more is better, you can have too much movement though, depending on what fish you want, african cichlids while having no water movement in the wild like movement in the tank and will often swim against hte current, you filter probably moves 300-350gph, in my african cichlid tank i have 680 gph of movement with my filters, tetratec makes a filter that heaters go into but from evertyhing ive read they are terrible filters other then the heater part, they are very noisey, the impellor stops often which makes the filter drain leaving the heater out of water where they can crack and shatter
