Filters?

I just bought a 60g tank that I would like to get a 120g canister filter for. I also plan to keep plants in the tank, like amazon sword, ludwigia and cambomba. Would a 120g filter create a current toostrong for the plants? Is this size filter a bit overkill?

I have an XP3 running on a 55g planted tank with no problems, I'm thinking about going to something with a little more flow. From what I've read the flow rating on the filters are with no filter media added.
