filtration for an island tank (viewable from all 4 sides)?

Just wondering how do they filtration for an island tank (a tank viewable from all 4 sides)? Is there more than 1 way (has to be!)?

I'm not planning a set-up like this anytime soon but, it is a dream of mine to have a huge tank as a room divider.

Please, forgive my stupidity but, what happens if the power goes out? Some kind of valves stop the water from running out.

nope, it will only overflow to the level of the overflow box (1/2in to an 1in below the water line) and you drill a little hole in the return line at the same level to prevent a back siphon. the sump is designed to be large enough to accomodate the extra water

If you do get an island tank make sure that you have it custom drilled with an overflow...most bottoms are tempered glass.
