filtration?

i am just woundering what you all use for filtration in your larger cichlid tanks

i am useing a XP3 in my 120 gallon tank, i had a power head in there but it craped out on me, i havnt replaced it yet

i use an eheim 2028 and 2 emperor 400's on my 125 gallon.

kind of depends upon the stocking level and size of the fish.

I got 2 Fluval 304's, 2 power heads and 1 UV sterilizer on my 75G... IMO you aint getting enough filtration on your 120, unless you have very few fish or something...

Add a large HOB, or another canister at least.

Well the powerhead won't provide extra filtration, unless you had a sponge attached to the intake?
the XP3 is rated for tanks larger than that but it's not enough, get another can or HOB as Farrmanchu suggests.

My larger cichlid set ups:-
400 litre - Eheim Pro 2226 + Juwel Jumbo (approx 1750 lph)
350 litre - Eheim Pro II 2126 + Juwel Jumbo (approx 2000 lph)

yeah the XP3 is 350 gph

in my 120 i have 1 oscar(11") 1 pike(6") 1 pictus(5") 1 feeder goldfish(4") and a clown knife(3-4"ish?)

so i am pretty well understocked IMO
