Fin nipping problem

Hey everyone. I bought a beautiful male guppy yesterday. My Rosy Barb keeps chasing it and now the guppy's tail is shredded. Does anyone know what I can do to stop this????

Nevermind, I am returning him to the fish store because now he is harassing my females. I should of known; He is in the barb family.

My rosy barb has bitten off the tails from my gupppies too. When i saw the title of you thread i had a feeling it was going to be your rosy barb that was doing the nipping.

Will the tails grow back, or will they always stay shredded looking?

They will grow back, without being bothered.

I've found that when the tails do grow back they are never as colourful.
