Fin Rot

Ok so I've been treating my tank for 3 days now with maracyn for some fin rot on one of my platy's. The rot is getting worse though, should I increase the dosage I am using 5 tablets a day for a 55 gallon tank.

ok first you should get a hospital tank so you don't have to treat a big 55 gallon tank. I am sure its costing you more. 2nd check your water quality? fin rot is usually caused by poor water quality or stress. I tried treating my fish with maracyn they just dont work for me. Why dont you try APPlus+ Anti-Fungus I usually use that and its helped me alot. It is a 2 day treatment and helps a lot. It is much cheaper then maracyn too.

Dont increase the dosage until it says on the bottle to do so!

Unfortunately I don't have anywhere to put a hospital tank atm. Thanks for your advice though, after I finish the maracyn if it has not gotten any better I'll try the APP+.
