Finally broke down and got an Albino Tiger Oscar

I finally broken down today after months of fighting the urge and got an albino Tiger Oscar. I actually work at my LFS, so it's been difficult to say no. Especially with the employee discount. Mostly I could convince myself that I didn't have the room, but since my old pleco passed away and I rehomed the Green Severums, it seemed OK to give in...and this guy has such beautiful pink and red veining.

He's just a little thing for now, a four-incher, but he seems to be doing well with the Gold Severums and Blood Parrot in the 54-gallon. I might either rehome one of the severums (very easy to do at work, we frequently trade fish with each other) and keep the oscar with the other two cichlids, or break down and buy him his own 55. I'd prefer to move them all to a 75, but the 54 is quite a fancy set-up. The next few months will help the decision.

I'm just glad I did it before getting my hands on a Red Devil.

Yeah...that's the best thing to do. Problem is finding a wall on the first floor that I can stick a 75, but would love to do that.

Have you ever Kept Acei Mbuna's from Lake Malawi?

No! Sounds like an African...tell me about it. I'm not getting much about them online.

Congrats on the new fish. Oscars IMHO are some of the smartest fish I have owned.

Well, They are very friendly lil Mbuna's, i have one in my 10 gallon now and its about full grown, he shares it with 4 cories and a pleco. Everyone has a good time lol. I will be putting him in a 25 gallon planted Species tank soon, and im not sure if i want to try to breed him or just put some other Lake Malawi Mbunas in with him. Id like to have a Eletric blue Ahli (my dream fish) but im not sure if they'l get along :/ Id also like to keep the Eletric Yellow Lab's but not sure there either.
