Finally got a bigger tank!

Well i finally got a 29 gal tank that i plan on putting my 5 gallon nano reef stuff into so it will be easier to maintain because my 5 gallon is suffering so what will i all need for this 29 gallon and i mean everything allits got is a hob filter that i will probally get rid of any way

a heater, some good lights depenfing on what kind of corals you want and a skimmer

heres my list of needs so far:

$ 18 Heater
$ 40 Powerhead

if the skimmer you are planning on getting is one of those Berlin Airlift 60s you are just throwing money away, you would be much better off getting the considerably less crappy (but still not great) Berlin Prizm for around $75...its a HOB too so it will save you a bunch of room in your tank that that airlift will take up

might as well keep the HOB and run it empty just for water flow, no point in trashing something you've bought

add $100 to your list for lights and i think you will be on your way

might consider getting two powerheads (like one for each end of the tank) instead of one huge one

Read the stickied threads. Mine at least has a minimal shopping list. I would also assume that a 27 dollar skimmer also requires an air pump, which is normally as noisy as heck
