I have an albino cory catfish that lost all fins but the tailfin. I don't know if the red glass barbs or red tail shark ate them. Long story short . . . my sister forgot to feed my fish while I was away. I am thinking this sad situation happened because the fish were not feed for almost a week. Will all the fins grow back? Thanks.

What are your readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

What sized tank is this and how long has it been set up?

What are all the fish in the tank?

Fins can regenerate IF the fin rays are still there. Fin rays are like our bones, and the flesh (the fin itself) can repair itself over time as long as the bone (fin rays) were not amputated.

Thanks for your response. I don't know the water conditions other than it's 78 degrees. The tank is a 30 gal and has been set up for almost two years. I have three cory catfish (emerald, julie and albino), two red glass barbs and one red tail shark. I don't see the fin rays. Is it possible to put the albino cory catfish in a 10 gal tank and use Melafin (sp?) to help his fins come back? Thanks. :)
