Firemouths in a 29 gallon tank?

as some of you may know, ive been struggling to think of ideas for my 29 gallon tank. all it has in it are 4 melanistius cories and 6 otos now. i was wondering if i could have maybe 2 firemouths in it. would they kill the otos/cories? if the cories and otos would be a problem, i could get rid of them. how big do firemouths get? about 5"-6"? thanks in advance for any info *crazysmil

I want to get a pair of firemouths too! However, my 20g may be too small for them. Anyway, can they be good additions for a bigger community tank?

How about kribensis? or rams? angels will also work if you want cichlids.

ive tried rams...bad experience. i dont like angels...i dunno if i wanna try kribs yet...im really interested in firemouths right now. could i have any?

Hey fishdude, I have currently 1 firemouth in with a whole lot more fish in a 40 gallon. I am sure you could put 2 in your tank.

1 pair in a 29gal is fine. Possibly could kill the cories and otos.

so do you think i should just get rid of the cories and otos just in case? or i could put them in my 10 gallon tank...of course ill probably need the 10 gallon in the future for convict fry...hmm...

Well, as long as the fire mouth meekis are still small the cories and otos will be fine, but when they do get big you might want to remove them (otos, cories).
