Long story short. . . I have two cory catfish in a 30 gal tank. I don't know which one laid eggs. I have one emerald cory and one juli cory. If it happens one cory is female and the other a male, will the male fertilize the eggs even though it's not the same kind of fish? I am not a breeder. The eggs are perfectly round and white and attached to the side of the tank. If these are not eggs, what else would they be? Any comments, suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

PS If the eggs are not fertilized will they just disappear?

I would assume that one of your other fish, if these are indeed fish eggs, would attempt to make them a snack if you leave them.
I don't know enough about fish eggs to determine if they are eggs. Maybe a picture?

The last time these type eggs appeared, the red glass barb ate them all!
Oh ya....fish just love to eat fish eggs. Or so it seems!

I can't imagine what type of disease it would be so I'm thinking its just eggs. But if your concerned you could Google fish diseases and see if anything matches. I wouldn't be to concerned unless your fish start showing signs of distress.

Sounds like them's fish eggs.
Sorry, can't recall what you have in the tank right now? Any snails? Could be snail eggs too.
And, yes, if they aren't fertilized, (and even if they are) someone in the tank will munch on them.
Don't worry about the tank suffering from any disease. Your tank should be fine. But a pic would be great to see!
