Huy Guys,

fish food query

I have just bought sra granu green and sera granu meat, to try for my malawi/tangs - slow sinking pellets

has anyone tried this stuff...if so, any good?

staple diet is cichlid excel pellets, courgette/spinach and some frozen foods, mysis artemia etc -

your mixing malawi's and tangs....... umm well I think that the have different requirements diets don't they (correct me if i'm wrong)

Also, with malawi cichlids it's not good to give them ANY MEAT, because they can't have a high protein diet or else they will get malawi bloat and die

Yes blueturq, a majority of malawins do have different dietary requirements than the tangs do. However there is always the exception to the rule. It depends on the species that he is keeping in the tank togeather.

tiggeryoda- I have never heard of that brand before, so I cant help you there, sorry. It does sound like you have a well varied diet anyway for your cichlids, I belive that the cichlid excel is more for herbivores as it contains more spirulina and plant matter than say the Cichlid Gold.

What mix of cichlids do you have?
