Alright well now that i got another 45g same dimensions, 3ftW,1ftL,2ftH. A tall tank good for angelfish i guess. Well anyways i have currently stocked in my current 45g,
18 Harlequins,6 Black Phantoms,6 Bloodfins,3 Neons, 1 Sunset Platy,1 Betta, and 1 CAE. For a total of 36 fish. Well once i get the new 45 cycled i plan to move all the fish to the newly cycled tank and then redo my current 45g with a new substrate, im sick of this blue crap.

So when i restock it after cycling it i plan to have:
2 or 4 Angelfish(would be my first time keeping these fish)
2 German Blue Rams
6 Black Phantoms
6 Bloodfins
6 Sunset Platys
4 Corys

Would this all work out? Anything to look out for? And do you think i could get away with 4 Angelfish? Thanks a lot.

I've never kept angels before either but plan to get one when my 29g is done cycling. From what I have read, it is alright to keep either 1, a pair, or 6 or more. That is just what I have heard so it might not be 100% right. I'm going with a single angel for my 29g. Angels are the coolest looking fish!:D

Well, I have to say that a nice pair of Angels would look great in a 45g. With the German Rams below and the tetras moving about in th middle. If you don't want any trouble and want everything to have the best chance of working out I would stay with 2 Angels (paired). I have a 45 pentagon corner tank wich currently has 4 Angels in it. They aren't even the same age or size. However, I would not advice this for anyone that does not have experiance with Angels and how does not have a back up plan. With 4 angels you are very likely to have aggression when they grow larger and if they all pair up then your in for some trouble.

I think your choince of fish is fine, however I would swap the platys for hatchets. I've never kept platies and Angels together, but with the theme you seem to be going with for this tank, the platys will be out of place. They do not even come from the same region, not saying that you have to have fish all from the same region, but I think they would just be really out of place. Hatchets are found in the same region as the other fish and will look very nice with the Angels. They also give a bit of varity to the tank with their odd body shape.

Thanks for the input Amazon, very helpful. I was also second thinking the platys, but the hatchets as an alternative is a good idea.

She keeps them together this is prolly were i inherited the idea. But her tank is also very interesting since both my tanks are the same dimensions as hers and she has hers planted nicely, which i plan to do in the future once i have the money for a C02 system and the CF lights.
