about 4 months ago i bought 2 Nimbochromis venustus they were both about an inch long since then one has stayed about the same size while the other has grown about twice his original size, they both look alike and are eating fine i was wondering if the bigger one is a female or if theres a way to tell? other then that i cant understand why theres such a difference in size.

I don't honestly know. I had two Oscars in an 85g alone time ago, one hit 14"" the other never got passed 10 1/2" which supports the theory all fish grow at different rates, and they have a predetermined size from birth.

its got me a bit baffled because i thought usually male and females looked different and the fact that all the cichlids are about the same size with the exception of the one that has stayed the same size. the only thing that it could be is if they look the same until they mature more all in all its not a problem becuase they are all healthy but im worred that if it doesnt start growing i may have to get rid of or move it to another tank becuase the others are all atleast twice his size right now.
