Fish tank didn't sit flat on the stand

what will happon if i fill up my tank if it isnt sitting totally flat on the stand. the close edge doesnt sit on the stand. my in-law said that it doesnt really matter but i am not sure???

I don't think that is a good thing because the weight distribution will be off and will stress your tank and possibly cause issues with it down the road

The tank will probably burst, either sooner or later. All four corners need to be supported.

Is it the tank or the stand that isn't straight?

well the stand isnt quite wide enough. from front to back i mean. its going to be really nice when i get it set up, but, it is being a pain in the butt to get in the wall. what is happening here is i had a stand built in my closet in the living room. i dont know why there woule be a closet in the living room but there was. i had a 80 long tank in there. it was 72" wide like the 220 i just got. well a drywall closet is 24 3/8" and a 220 tank is 24 1/4" and weighs like 1,000,000 pounds. we had to cut a hole in the wall on the back side just to get it to swing it in there. the tank looks like it was built right in the wall.

i just hope everything turns out okay. i have to get a new top built so it will sit flat. then ill get some pics to post.

Again...do not fill this tank without it being fully supported. It will break and you will have a huge (220g) mess.

i had a metal stand that had a little bow in it, about six months later i had 90 gallons of water in my living room. i had to replace the carpet. dont fill it up or youll be sorry...i was
