I'm considering a move and would be moving quite a ways away (approx. 10 hours drive) is it possible to take my fish with me or would it be better to sell them to my LFS? I'm sure there must be a heater that you can plug into a cig. lighter or at leats convert it? Has anyone ever made a move of this distance with their fish? Thanks

check with your lfs. they should pretty well know the max time that your fish would be ok. i moved 5 hrs with insulated boxes and a batt. opperated air pump with no problem. Just be sure that if you do take the fish with you, that you take as much water that is in the tanks now to put in when you get there.

Yes, I think they would be fine unless they are especially fragile. Just get a batt. air pump or 2 and put them in insulated boxs or buckets. I wouldn't worry about a heater just take a therm. with you and turn on the heater in your vehical if the the temp. falls.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the help guys! I have 2 styrofoam containers for tropical fish transport, I'll just have to look into the airpumps now. I fully plan on taking as much of the water that is in the tank now as possible with me. Thanks again.
