I just recently got a brocken 10gallon tank from my neibor, I fixed it with sillicone and I'm sure it will hold. I put a whole new piece of glass on the front of the aquarium. but after 3 days now it still smells a little bit like sillicone. I was wondering if anyone had ever fixed a aquarium with sillicon and how long did it take to fully cure so it dosent smell anymore?

Read the bottle of sillicon you bought, it should give you an estimated curing time. I would wait until it stops smelling, then wait a little bit more just to be on the safe side. I know curing takes longer than three days though, most people wait a week to two weeks. Patience is essential to this hobby and if you can't wait at least a week for the sillicon to cure, then you definately have to get a different hobby<G>.

Before you place fish in the tank, I would fill it and let it sit some where you wouldn't mind getting the floor wet for a week just to make sure the sealent doesn't leak. Sometimes slow capillary leaks can drain a tank right out from under the aquarist's nose. I have that happen with my 20 gallon where it is not sealed properly along the top trim. When it gets too full the water leaks out from underneath the trim and capillary action will drain it at least an inch if I don't dry it up and break the flow.
